Good choice Doug! I have been considering a 5DSR as an upgrade from my 5D3 but decided against it as my photography includes travel work as well as landscape and beauty.
I had an R and an RP with the f1.2 50mm on loan from Canon for two weeks at Christmas and was rather underwhelmed though the lens was amazing and mega heavy.
I am sticking to my 5D3 for now ‘cos it’s bloody good

Thanks Doug for detailed comments most of which I understood! The R 5 seemed to me to be the answer to the shortcomings so far from Canon in mirrorless but under the skin there are really few improvements for a stills photographer. Indeed the reported overheating for 8K video is a little disconcerting so I think 7/10 could do better should be the offered mark.
Now my new Kase high end filter set is a different story....
