Doug King combines a scientific mind with an artistic temperament. He is one of the most highly regarded architectural engineers and teachers in the UK, but he picks up a camera for pleasure. He has been shooting since the age of seven, when he started out with his Mum’s Kodak 126 Instamatic. He has shot with film cameras ranging from a 16mm miniature Minolta to medium format. However, like many others, the digital revolution opened new doors.
Doug likes to photograph landscapes and the obligatory cute animals, but recently has found himself drawn to more abstract subjects. He has been an active member of Bath Photographic Society since 2018 and is currently the programme secretary.
